Kind. Cheerful. Warm.

On first blush, Beth Ann might strike you as the quintessential housewife from 1963. But when Ginnifer Goodwin breathes the character to life on the upcoming CBS All Access Original Series Why Women Kill, we'll see how she's wearing a mask to hide her pain. Beth Ann's whole world revolves around her husband, and so she is understandably defensive and immediately in denial when told Rob is having an affair.

The new series is a darkly comedic drama that will examine how the role of women has changed through the decades, but their reaction to betrayal... has not. Why Women Kill will introduce us to a housewife in the '60s, a socialite in the '80s, and a lawyer in 2018, each dealing with infidelity in their marriages.

Goodwin joins Lucy Liu, who was recently announced as the modern era's Simone, the picture of urbane confidence. Like Beth Ann, Simone will discover that her husband Karl has been cheating on her. While Simone is devastated in her world, Beth Ann will be determined to learn the sordid details of her husband's dirty deeds—and will be in for a life-changing shift of perspective.

Goodwin will also be appearing soon in The Twilight Zone, which begins streaming April 1 exclusively on CBS All Access. She is best known for her roles in HBO's Big Love and ABC's Once Upon a Time.
