Season 2 finds Jack Parsons, a scientist and occult enthusiast, seeing the fruits of his labor in rocket science as World War II begins. But it's not just the military hoping to benefit from Jack's genius. Jack and his wife Susan's involvement in the sex cult results in direct attention from cult founder Aleister Crowley.

Crowley is known historically as a prolific writer, mountaineer, magician, and master spy – in Strange Angel he uses his influence and abilities to push Jack to even greater heights in his pursuit of magick and True Will.

Macfadyen is no stranger to historical roles. He's best known for his role as Robert the Bruce in Academy Award-winning film Braveheart and he starred in three seasons of AMC's Revolutionary War espionage thriller Turn. His other prominent film credits include Equilibrium, Titus, We Bought A Zoo, Lost City of Z, and Macbeth Unhinged for which he also adapted the screenplay and directed.

The entire first season of Strange Angel is currently available to stream on CBS All Access. Macfadyen joins the current cast including Jack Reynor, Rupert Friend, Bella Heathcote, and Peter Mark Kendall.
