Doug is having his first house party, and he is very nervous about it--especially when he sees how his parents decorated the place. When Skeeter exaggerates about Doug's horsemanship, Doug egotistically lets the others believe the lie. Roger challenges the story, and Patti suggests they all go to the dude ranch to settle the argument on horse.

Doug and his friends are graduating from the Bluffington School, and Doug feels a bit melancholy. When he finds out that Roger is as reluctant to leave as he is, Doug convinces Roger--and himself--that the new school will be great. The Funnies are driving across country to visit the Great Painted Gorge. Doug and Judy convince Phil to stop at several tourist traps along the way.
